ORIGINI E SVILUPPOTra le piu' antiche società di classifica di navi mercantili al mondo, il RINA viene fondato a Genova nel 1861 da un gruppo di armatori e di assicuratori marittimi.
La classificazione e la certificazione di navi costituiscono le sue attività istituzionali fin dalla fondazione.
Socio fondatore dell' IACS, l'Organizzazione Internazionale delle Società di Classifica, il RINA è riconosciuto da oltre70 amministrazioni di bandiera.OBIETTIVI A LUNGO TERMINEA partire dal 1861 il RINA ha incoraggiato continue collaborazioni tecniche all'interno della comunità marittima internazionale.
Attualmente l'obiettivo primario della Divisione Navale è quello di supportare l'industria marittima tramite una serie di attività:
- Garantire un costante aumento di qualità della flotta classificata
- Espandere la Rete Operativa Internazionale
- Rafforzare la presenza tecnica e commerciale nei mercati emergenti
- Creare dei centri con specifiche competenze tecnologiche
- Offrire l'esperienza a disposizione nei settori yachting e militare attraverso linee operative dedicate
Per raggiungere questi obiettivi a lungo termine, il RINA si impegna a:
- Incrementare le collaborazioni nelle attività di sorveglianza costruzione con cantieri che si trovano in paesi particolarmente attivi nell'industria della cantieristica
- Mantenere una prestazione PSC di prima classe
- Sviluppare innovativi set di servizi di assistenza intesi a soddisfare le esigenze degli armatori
- Avviare progetti e studi di Ricerca tecnologicamente avanzati

LONG-TERM OBJECTIVES Since 1861 RINA has been developing technical partnerships within the international shipping community.
Nowadays the main goal of the Marine Division is to assist the marine industry by:
- Ensuring a quality growth for the classed fleet

- Continuing the development of the International Network
- Strengthening the technical and commercial presence in growing markets
- Establishing technological competence centres
- Offering specialized skills in the yachting and naval sectors through dedicated business lines
To reach the long-term objectives RINA is working in order to:
- Increase its partnership in new buildings activities with those shipyards based in countries strongly committed in the shipbuilding industry
- Maintain a first-class PSC performance
- Develop innovative packages of marine services dedicated to shipowners' needs
- Lauch advanced technology research projects and studies
