    Flag Administration Authorizations
    RINA is authorised to act on behalf of the Italian Administration in accordance with EU directive 94/57 and by approximately 70 other Flag Administrations.

    Recognitions and Authorizations
    Yachting
    RINA is one of the Certifying Authorities recognized to carry out surveys and issue certificates of compliance with MCA - MGN 280, on behalf of all the Red Ensign Group of Flags.
    RINA carries out certification for small commercial yachts also on behalf of Luxembourg, Marshall Islands, Malta and other major Flag Administrations.

    Laboratory
    The RINA Test Laboratory has been indicated by the International Maritime Organisation (UNO agency dealing with safety at sea) as national reference laboratory for tests in connection with the International Code for Application of Fire Test Procedures (FTP Code) IMO resolution MSC.61(67).

    Approved by the Italian Administration as notified body pursuant to European Directive on Marine Equipment as well as by the United States Coast Guard for the purpose of acceptance, by the United States Administration, of the results of all the tests foreseen by the IMO FTP Code.

    MINISTRY of the Interior Authorization
    The RINA Test Laboratory is authorised by the Ministry of the Interior, according to the criteria of the Ministerial Decree dated 26 March 1985, to operate in connection with fire resistance on non load-bearing vertical and horizontal division elements,

    International Regulatory Association RINA partecipation

    • IACS (International Association of Classification Societies). RINA is one of the seven founder members of IACS and actively participates in all the working groups.
    • IMO (International Marittime Organisation).
      RINA has been recognised as being in compliance with the minimum requirements set out in Appendix 1 "Minimum Standards for Recognised Organisations acting on behalf of the Adminsitration" of IMO Resolution A.739 (18) "Guidelines for the Authorisation of Organisations acting on behalf of the Administration".
    • EU (European Union)
      RINA has been recognised as being in compliance with the minimum requirements set out in the Annex "Minimum criteria for organisations" of EU Council Directive 94/57/EC of 22 November 1994.
